Common questions

Is there a free quote template for tradesmen in Word or Excel?

You can build one from the layout on this page in any word processor or spreadsheet. Copy the sections in order and keep the wording plain.

What is the difference between a quote template and an invoice template?

A quote is the price before the work, for the customer to accept. An invoice is the bill after the work. Upheld turns an accepted quote into the invoice when the job is done.

Should a quote template include terms and conditions?

Yes. At minimum include your guarantee, what happens with unexpected work, payment terms, and the customer's cancellation rights where they apply.
