Quoting app for plumbers and heating engineers. The boiler quote they understand, sent from the driveway.
Short answer
Upheld is a quoting app for UK plumbers and heating engineers. You talk through the boiler, cylinder or heat pump job on site, it prices it from your merchant list and labour rates, and the homeowner gets a branded video quote with the written quotation, an accept button and a deposit link. Upheld shows you who watched it and flags when to ring.
Every boiler quote looks alike
Make, model, flue, total. The customer cannot see why yours includes a magnetic filter, a powerflush and a ten year warranty, and the cheaper one does not.
Quoting after a long day
You price three system swaps at night while the online installers send theirs in minutes.
Heat pump quotes are complicated
Heat loss, emitters, cylinders and grants. A PDF loses the customer by page two.
How a quote gets made in Upheld
- Walk the job and talk it through on your phone, the way you would explain it to a mate. Add a few photos.
- Upheld turns it into priced lines from your own price list, your markup and your day rate. Anything it cannot price is flagged for you.
- You check every line and press send. Nothing reaches a customer until you have.
- Your customer gets one link by text, WhatsApp or email: a short video quote in your name, the written quotation, and buttons to accept, ask for a change or pay the deposit.
- You see when they open it and how much they watch. When someone keeps coming back to it, Upheld tells you to ring them.

VAT on heat pumps and energy saving installs
Installing qualifying energy saving materials in homes in Great Britain, including air source and ground source heat pumps, is zero rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, and is due to return to the 5% reduced rate from 1 April 2027. Check HMRC's guidance for what qualifies on each job and show the VAT rate clearly on the quote.
What to put in a boiler or heating quote
- The appliance make, model and output, and the warranty you are registering
- Flue, filter, controls and any system clean, as separate lines
- Whether old parts are removed and disposed of
- Registration and certification included, such as Gas Safe notification
- The deposit, the total and how long the price stands
Questions trades ask
Can I quote heat pumps with Upheld?
Yes. Talk through the system, the emitters and the cylinder and Upheld drafts the lines from your price list. Quotes use the VAT rate in your business settings, so check it matches the job before you send.
Does it work with my merchant prices?
Yes. Upload the price list your merchant sends you and set your markup. Lines you have no price for are flagged for you to fill in.
Can customers book a start date?
Yes. Connect your Google or Outlook calendar and the customer can pick a day you are free when they accept.
Is the deposit paid to me?
Yes. Deposits go straight into your own Stripe account. Upheld never holds your money.
