Quoting app for builders.Win the job before the next builder sends a PDF.
Short answer
Upheld is a quoting app for UK builders. You talk the job through on site, it builds a priced quote from your own materials list, markup and day rates, and your customer receives a short branded video quote with the written quotation, an accept button and a deposit link. It then tells you who has watched it and when to ring.
Quotes eat your evenings
An extension or a refurb quote can take a whole evening to write, after a full day on site. The longer it takes, the more likely someone else got there first.
Three builders, three totals
Your customer gets three PDFs that look the same and picks on price. Nothing in yours shows the thought you put into the job.
Silence after you send it
You do not know if they opened it, read it with their partner, or forgot it. So you either chase too early or not at all.
How a quote gets made in Upheld
- Walk the job and talk it through on your phone, the way you would explain it to a mate. Add a few photos.
- Upheld turns it into priced lines from your own price list, your markup and your day rate. Anything it cannot price is flagged for you.
- You check every line and press send. Nothing reaches a customer until you have.
- Your customer gets one link by text, WhatsApp or email: a short video quote in your name, the written quotation, and buttons to accept, ask for a change or pay the deposit.
- You see when they open it and how much they watch. When someone keeps coming back to it, Upheld tells you to ring them.

What a good builder's quote includes
- Your business name, address and VAT number if you are registered
- The customer's name and the job address
- A clear scope: what is included, and what is not (skip hire, making good, decoration, building control fees)
- Itemised materials and labour, so the customer can see where the money goes
- VAT shown separately, a total, and how long the price is valid for
- The deposit, how the balance will be paid, and any provisional sums
- The customer's 14 day cancellation rights if the contract is agreed at their home or online
Why a video quote wins building work
Building work is a big decision, usually made by two people at the kitchen table in the evening. A PDF cannot answer the questions they ask each other. A two minute video in your name, walking through what you found, what you will do and what it will look like, can.
Upheld adds an illustration of the finished job from your site photos, always labelled as an illustration, so they can see the result as well as the price.
Questions trades ask
Can I take a deposit on a big job?
Yes. Set the deposit on the quote. The customer sees it before they accept, and can pay it by card straight into your own Stripe account.
Can I use my own merchant prices?
Yes. Upload the price list from your merchant or your own price book and set your markup. Every quote is priced from it.
What if the customer wants changes?
They press Changes on the quote and tell you what they want. You send a new version on the same link, so there is one quote, not five emails.
Does my customer need to download anything?
No. They open one link in their phone's browser. No app, no account, no password.
